Blue Mosque
The Blue Mosque, formerly known as the Sultan Ahmed Mosque, is one of the famous mosques in Turkey. In the early 17th century, it was designed and built by Mehmet Aga, the favorite student of Sinan, a famous classical architect in the Islamic world. It was named after the interior walls of the mosque were decorated with blue and white Iznik tiles. It is one of the most important landmarks in Istanbul. .
The Blue Mosque is a Byzantine (Eastern Roman Empire, with Greek culture as the main culture) style dome building, surrounded by six minarets, symbolizing the six beliefs of Islam. The Blue Mosque is one of the top ten wonders in the world.
There are a total of 260 small windows in the mosque. Sunlight passes through the small windows, and the circularly arranged glass lights reflect dim light.
