Hagia Sophia
The Hagia Sophia, also known as the Ayasofya Muzesi, is located opposite the Blue Mosque and was built in 325 AD. Hagia Sophia, the main church of the Byzantine Empire, is located in Istanbul, Turkey. It has a history of nearly 1,500 years. It is famous for its huge dome. It is the representative of Byzantine architecture, the central church of the Orthodox Church, and the peak of the Byzantine Empire Monument of the times.
Hagia Sophia is centralized, 77.0 meters long from east to west, 71.0 meters long from north to south, and 54.8 meters high. It is the third church built by the Byzantine Emperor Justinian I in AD 532. With the strong national support of Byzantium, it was designed by the physicist Isidore of Miletus and the mathematician Antimus of Tralles, and was completed in 537 AD. After 1453, it was occupied by the Turks and converted into a mosque. It was changed to a museum in 1935 and listed as a world cultural heritage in 1985.
