Boyana Church
Boyana Church is located about 8,000 meters south of Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, in Boyana Village in the southern suburbs of Sofia at the foot of Vitosha Mountain. It is also translated as Boyana Church and Boyana Church. It was built at the end of the 10th century. The entire construction process has gone through several centuries. It is the only cultural relic building in Bulgaria that has been preserved completely since the 13th century and embodies the artistic characteristics of the Bulgarian court. The Boyana Church, known as "the jewel in the crown of Sofia", is a famous Orthodox church in Bulgaria.
The most famous of the Boyana Church is its murals, especially the "Last Supper" and icon paintings. The facial expressions of the characters in the murals are very vivid, with obvious realism, which is the most outstanding achievement of medieval Bulgarian art. Built on the ruins left by foreign invaders, this church was once part of the royal palace in the Middle Ages. Today it is a symbol of Bulgaria's independence, culture and prosperity.
