"A Nobody" to achieve a great thing happen, "With Small Forces" to gather a big results.  As one of the key construction projects of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, the Aid of Pakistan East Bay Expressway Project of Gwadar was officially started in 2017, it took 54 months of construction, was finally successfully opened to traffic on June 3 this year, officially opening the external connection road of Gwadar Port Area.

Undoubtedly, the successful opening of this project is a beautiful "microcosm" of Gwadar's sustained and rapid economic development.  Gwadar Port, the third largest port in Pakistan located on the southwest coast of Pakistan's Baluchistan province, will not only promote the economic construction of Baluchistan and Pakistan as a whole, but also become a regional logistics and shipping center.

"After the completion of the project, the free zone through between the north and the south of Gwadar Port has been completely realized connected, providing necessary overland route support for the collection and distribution of domestic and overseas goods in Gwadar Port, and becoming a very-worthy transportation 'Artery' to promote the local economic prosperity of Gwadar".  The person in charge of the project told reporters in an interview that the construction of the project at its peak provided about 2,000 jobs, which solved the employment problem of a large number of local people and greatly promoted the local economic construction.

According to the report, in order to protect the road from the waves erosion, the project has specially built revetments and wave walls, which also protect the fishing village from the waves.  The total length of the offshore section of the project is about 4.34 kilometers, a total of 6,219 fence panels have been installed and about 4.34 kilometers of wave walls have been constructed.  At the same time, there are 4 Bridges in total, including three 30-meter Bridges in the sea section and one 50-meter bridge in the land section, there are totally 26 large and small all kinds of pipe culvert, box culvert and underground passage.

Since the outbreak of the epidemic, it has brought great obstacles and difficulties to the promotion of the project, and Liu Fangtao has assumed the important responsibility of epidemic prevention and control command.  From the investigation of diagnosis and treatment in Pakistan to the formulation of epidemic prevention and control measures;  From the purchase of epidemic prevention materials to the emotional comfort of migrant workers;  From comprehensively promoting the resumption of work and production to the implementation of a long-term mechanism for epidemic prevention and control, Liu Fangtao's active efforts are reflected in every work and task related to epidemic prevention and control and project construction.

It is reported that during the epidemic, more than 800 Pakistani migrant workers registered in the Project Department were very worried about the medical conditions and prevention and control situation in Gwadar, and nearly 200 of them applied to resign the project Department and go home.  Faced with this situation, Liu Fangtao immediately went to the project site to communicate with the workers face to face, patiently explained the epidemic prevention and control measures of the Project Department to the workers, and made them fully understand the measures taken by the Project Department in epidemic prevention supplies, rental of new dormitories and closed management, joint epidemic prevention with Gwadar Hospital and other measures.  After the Pakistani workers learning more about the epidemic prevention work of COVID-19 in detail of the project Department, they were have peace of mind into work.
