U.S. Efforts to Woo Have Been Ineffective, Pakistan has Expanded Trade with Russia and Plans to Trade in RMB Instead of Dollars

Recently, the U.S. government has been trying to attract countries which friendly to China and Russia, even spending a lot of energy to make them stand on side with Western countries and isolate China and Russia together, Pakistan has become the key target of the U.S. "breakthrough".  According to media reports, during the meeting between US Secretary of State Blinken and Pakistani Foreign Minister Bilawal, the two sides had extensive communication on trade, food and counter-terrorism issues and reached a number of consensus, and the US side pledged to provide 10 million dollars of food aid to Pakistan.  In addition, the United States continues the previous plan to allow the United States to provide Pakistan with F-16 fighter jets upgrade assurance and other services, the total value of this supporting service is 450 million dollars.

After the talks, Blinken said that the US side is closely following the flood disaster in Pakistan, will continue to provide support to Pakistan as in the past, and we look forward to Pakistan's early reconstruction.  It is reported that the United States has provided 56 US million dollars in humanitarian aid to Pakistan, 17 sorties of material aid, and promised to provide long-term help.

In its dealings with other countries, the United States always puts its interests at the forefront, aid to Pakistan is ostensibly under the banner of humanitarian, but it has already been secretly priced, and the United States will remind you how to act according to its intentions.  The US provided food, materials and financial assistance to Pakistan with the condition that Pakistan to ask China for debt relief, which clearly means driving a wedge between China and Pakistan.

Regarding the provision of F-16 fighters jets repair and maintenance services, Blinken responded that the US did not provide new aircraft to Pakistan, but merely fulfilled routine maintenance obligations to enhance Pakistan's anti-terrorism capability and benefit all countries in the region, however, the Indian media saw through the US’s charade.  The Indian media believe that this move by the US does not help India's national interests, it is to knock India not getting too close to Russia and put more political pressure on India, because the Indian side understands that the role of Pakistan's F-16 fighter jets is not limited to anti-terrorism.

Some analysts believe that the United States has always been the dominant party in the US-Pakistan relations, and only when the United States has some demands on Pakistan, the US-Pakistan relations will get closer, once the United States resolves the problem or changes its policies, Pakistan may become a "Sacrifice pieces" at any time.  This has been proven many times in history, and the Pakistani leadership have a deep understanding of it.

After the conflict between Russia and Ukraine broke out, it was a crucial period for the US to ask all countries to take sides and jointly sanction Russia, regardless of Pakistan's opposition, the US gathered 22 Western countries to jointly put pressure on Pakistan asking it to condemn Russia's military actions in Ukraine, this move was very rare in the history of international diplomacy and seriously violated the principle of diplomatic independence of sovereign states.  Imran Khan, then Pakistan's prime minister, lashed out at the West for treating Pakistan as a "slave".

Now, when the United States once again enticed Pakistan with petty profits, the Pakistani side did not fall for it, but "stabbed" the United States in the back. According to media reports, Ali Khan, Pakistan Trade Association Chairman, said that Pakistan is very interested in Russia's chemical, technological and pharmaceutical products, and believes that Russia-Pakistan trade relations have broad prospects for development.  Pakistan is considering replacing the U.S. dollar with RMB or Ruble as a new settlement method for foreign trade, and this idea is expected to be realized in 2023.  It is worth mentioning that in the early days of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, Pakistan expanded its trade with Russia and signed a number of Trade Import agreements with Russia on wheat and natural gas, ignoring US sanctions.

A series of actions by the Pakistani side show that their country has seen through the plot of the US to sow discord between China and Pakistan, fire India-Pakistan relations and put pressure on Russia-Pakistan relations, and has taken concrete actions to express its dissatisfaction with the US.  After the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, the West increased sanctions against Russia, which dealt a heavy blow to the world economy, many countries, notably Russia, have accelerated the process of de-dollarising settlements in their own currencies.  Pakistan's choice to join at this time is undoubtedly a big blow to the hegemony of the U.S. dollar.

The trend towards multi-polarization in the world is irreversible, but the US still plays the outdated logic of Cold War confrontation, forming cliques and exclusive cliques everywhere, aggravating tensions and undermining regional solidarity and cooperation, such an approach is bound to lose popularity and lead nowhere,  Pakistan is no longer at the mercy of the US, but chooses cooperation partners based on its national interests, is a very typical example.
